Description:
Essential duties and responsibilities include first mortgage origination and lending, rate quotes, loan interviewing, processing mortgage applications and loan files, providing disclosures, ordering credit and credit updates, flood determinations, appraisals, requesting title commitment and survey, verifying proof of insurance, fee collection, general ledger maintenance, and scheduling loan closings. Additional responsibilities include pre-qualifications and cross-selling credit union products and services that best fit the needs of the borrower such as MIDFLORIDA Real Estate Sales, MIDFLORIDA Title Professionals, Heacock Insurance and Raymond James Financial. Mortgage Originators are also responsible for marketing the MIDFLORIDA brand in their respective territories by attending community functions relating to the real estate profession and calling on Realtors, builders, and MIDFLORIDA employees for referrals.
Requirements:
A minimum of two years of mortgage lending experience is required. Experience will include government and conventional loan origination, automated underwriting systems, and secondary market guidelines. Candidates will be highly familiar with the marketplace for which they are applying, specifically North Lakeland or Highlands County. Candidates will possess a documented history of business growth and development, and will be knowledgeable in the areas of underwriting and lending, mortgage processing, as well as regulatory and compliance issues. Candidates must possess strong customer service, time, and organizational skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to work well independently within a team oriented environment.
