Florida Strawberry Festival Entering Its 79th Year
Looking for something to do this weekend? Head out to the Florida Strawberry Festival. The 11-day carnival runs February 28 – March 9 at the festival fairgrounds in Plant City.
Visit Plant City this weekend for Rides, Food and Fun
The festival features rides, concerts, and fun for all ages. Let’s not forget food! The festival has all kinds of unique food items to satisfy every craving. New creations this year include the strawberry jam hamburger, fried green tomato burger and The Sticky Pig—homemade strawberry ice cream topped with torched marshmallows, waffle pieces, fudge and candied bacon. If you’re not adventurous, there is always the original, strawberry shortcake!
Free Kids Day sponsored by MIDFLORIDA
For the second year, MIDFLORIDA will be sponsoring Free Kids Day on Saturday, March 1. All kids through high school age are admitted free on this day. It’s a great way to enjoy a day out with the family and save a little money at the same time. It also gives us the opportunity to get involved with our community and maintain our commitment of service to the areas we serve, which today stretches across the state from coast to coast.
Sweet Prizes, including One Direction tickets
As part of our sponsorship, MIDFLORIDA will be on-site at the festival on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (March 1-3) with some really great giveaways each day. On Saturday, you can enter to win $40 in ride tickets and then on Sunday and Monday, $25 Starbucks gift cards. Each day, three winners will be selected at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Plus, enter all weekend long for our grand prize giveaway of 2 tickets to see One Direction in October. One winner will be randomly selected on Tuesday, March 4. Be your kids’ hero and visit our tent near the front gate to register for these awesome prizes.
