Beginning August 1, the Rewards for You program will move to a points-based reward structure. See below for common questions and answers.
Questions for Existing Participants
What happens to my rewards between now and August 1?
You will continue to earn your credit-based transaction rewards and they will continue to post to your checking account. Then on August 1, any transaction you perform using your MIDFLORIDA debit card will begin to earn points. To see how many points you accrue, just log on to Online Banking. (If you don’t currently have free Online Banking, call the Help Desk to have this service added.)
What if I do not have Online Banking, how will I get my reward?
Because this process allows you to participate in selecting the reward you want, it has to reside in the protected environment of Online Banking so to choose and receive your reward, you must have this free service. To add Online Banking, call the Help Desk at (866) 913-3733.
Can I earn additional points as a Power Usesr – 19 or more transactions a month?
The Power User portion of Rewards for You will not carry over to this new format. However, with the new points program, point promotions will take place throughout the year which will allow you to earn more points when you perform a transaction or payment using your MIDFLORIDA debit card within a particular business category. Watch for messages on your online account signin and other communications to find out how you can boost your point earnings.
What if I have joint members on my account who also earn Rewards for You, will each cardholder earn their own reward?
No, all debit cards associated with a checking account will work in conjunction to earn points which will help you accrue points faster and reach your reward sooner.
What is Rewards for You?
Rewards for You is a debit card rewards program where you can earn points every time you use your MIDFLORIDA debit card for a purchase transaction. Points can be redeemed for cash or gift cards once you have accumulated 200 points.
How do I earn points?
Points are earned with every purchase transaction. ATM transactions do not earn reward points.
- Earn 1 point for every PIN-based Point of Sale (POS) transaction.
- Earn 2 points for every credit-based (signature) transaction of $99.99 or less.
- Earn 3 points for every credit-based (signature) transaction of $100.00 or more.
What types of rewards can I redeem my points for?
Points can be redeemed for cash or gift cards. For every 200 points you redeem, you can receive $5 cash or a $5 gift card. Gift card options include retailers such as Starbucks, Walmart, iTunes, Target and more. Gift card selection is subject to change.
What is the minimum amount of points I need to accumulate before I can redeem?
You need to accrue a minimum of 200 points to redeem for cash back or a gift card. Rewards can be redeemed by logging into Online Banking.
When are points awarded to my account?
Points are awarded as soon as the purchase transaction posts to your account.
Can I still earn cash back with the Rewards for You program?
Yes. However, you will no longer receive an automatic deposit to your account on a daily or monthly basis. Instead, once you accumulate a minimum of 200 points, you can choose to redeem your points for cash back or a gift card.
Are bonus rewards offered?
Yes. We will periodically award bonus points for purchases made in certain categories (i.e. grocery, gas, restaurants, etc.). Watch your statement or midflorida.com for announcements.
Do reward points expire?
Yes. Points will expire 24 months from the date the original points were posted to your rewards account. Once expired, points cannot be reinstated.
Where can I see my points balance?
Members may view their points balance by signing into Online Banking and clicking on the appropriate checking account to go to the Account Details page. The points balance will be shown on the Debit Card Rewards button in the upper right section of the page.
How do I redeem reward points?
To redeem points, follow these steps:
- Sign into Online Banking.
- Click on the checking account associated with your debit card to go to the Account Details page.
- Click on the “Manage my rewards” link inside the Debit Card Rewards button in the upper right section of the page.
- Then, click on the “Redeem Points” button.
Is there a fee for the program or for redeeming points?
No. All debit card rewards programs are completely free.
If I have multiple debit cards on my checking account, can they each be signed up for a different rewards program?
No. All debit cards associated with a checking account will be signed up for the same rewards program. Enrolling or changing the reward on one card will affect all cards on the same checking account.
How can I enroll my account into one of the rewards programs?
Before August 1, visit www.midflorida.com/rewards and choose the program you want to enroll your card in.
After August 1, you can enroll by logging into Online Banking, choosing the checking account you want to enroll and clicking on the Debit Card Rewards sign up button in the upper right section of the Account Details page.
Can I change rewards programs?
Yes. You can change rewards programs at any time within Online Banking. Click on the account you want to change, then click on the Debit Card Rewards button in the upper right section of the Account Details page. Changing rewards programs will not transfer existing points/funds earned.
Can I combine points from multiple checking accounts?
No. Points cannot be combined or transferred from one checking account to another. However, points from all debit cards on one checking account will pool together.
Once I have redeemed my points, how long does it take to receive my reward?
If you redeem your points for a cash reward, the deposit should be made to your account by the next business day. If you redeem your points for a gift card, the gift card should be delivered within 7-10 business days to the address we have on record.
If I receive a new debit card, will I need to enroll that card into the rewards program?
No. The reward program applies to your checking account and all debit cards associated with it. Any new or reissued debit cards on that account will be automatically enrolled into the same rewards program.
When I redeem my points for a gift card, can I have it shipped to an alternate address?
No. For security reasons, we can only ship your gift card reward to the address we have on record for you.
What happens to my points if I close my account?
If you close your account, any unredeemed points will be forfeited.
