Secured Visa

A Secured Visa credit card can help you build or re-establish your credit. By backing the card with a secured savings account, you can qualify for limits of $500 to $10,000. Just use your card responsibly and, since the card is reported to three major credit bureaus, you’ll be able to improve your credit score in no time.

Design your own credit card

A Snapshot Photo Card allows you to customize your credit card with your favorite photo or unlicensed image. Just upload it within Online Banking and in a matter of days, you’ll be sent a new credit card with your unique image printed right on the front. (Within Online Banking, click on the credit card account link and then click DYOC/Snapshot from the right hand navigation.)

How to use a Secured Card

To establish a Secured Visa credit card, you will first need to make a deposit into a secured savings account to hold as collateral. Then use the card like any other credit card by making purchases and paying a monthly payment towards the balance. The deposit used to establish the card account will remain on hold until you close the card account.

Upgrade to a Visa Platinum

After showing your ability to be responsible with a secured credit card with about 6-12 months of good account history, you can have the opportunity to upgrade to our unsecured card – the MIDFLORIDA Visa Platinum – and have your collateral funds available for use. Approval is required.

Paying Interest

Your due date is at least 21 days after we mail your billing statement. We will not charge you interest on purchases if you pay your entire new balance by the due date of each month. We will begin charging interest on cash advances and balance transfers on the date the cash advance or balance transfer is posted to your account.

Transaction Fees
Balance Transfer $10.00 or 1% of each transfer, whichever is greater.
Cash Advance $20.00 or 2% of each cash advance, whichever is greater.
Foreign Transaction 0.8% of each transaction in U.S. dollars if the transaction involves a currency conversion; 0.8% of each transaction in U.S. dollars if the transaction does not involve a currency conversion

Late Payment Up to $25.00 if your payment is late.

Returned Payment Up to $25.00 if your payment is returned for any reason

How We Will Calculate Your Balance: We use a method called “average daily balance (including new purchases).”
Overdraft Protection: If you have overdraft protection linked to your credit card account, overdrafts will be charged to your card at the cash advance APR of 11.99% with the corresponding daily period rate of 0.032849% for limits of $500 – $1,000 and 10.99% with the corresponding daily period rate of 0.030109% for limits of $1,100 or greater. In addition, a $10.00 fee will also be added and will accrue interest at the same rates.
Snapshot Photo Card Fee: First card free for each user. $5.99 per individual card thereafter.
