International Wire Transfers

Take us abroad! When you’re traveling outside the United States, it’s good to know that MIDFLORIDA is as close as the closest foreign bank to your location. Here are some of the most common questions and answers about international wire transfers.

Q: What do I need to complete an international wire to my MIDFLORIDA account?
A: In order to wire money from another country to your MIDFLORIDA account, you will often just need your account number and MIDFLORIDA’s Routing Number, which is 263179804. Be sure to have the full name of the beneficiary that will receive the money.

Q: What if the foreign bank says that they require a Swift Code to complete a wire to MIDFLORIDA?
A: Many banks and credit unions do not have a Swift Code. Don’t worry! You can still wire the money. Simply request that the foreign bank wire the money to their U.S. correspondent bank, with the instructions: for Further Credit to MIDFLORIDA, with final credit to you. That bank will complete the transaction using our routing number and your account number. Please note that foreign banks often stumble at the absence of the Swift Code, but they should all have a U.S. Correspondent bank, and established procedures that they can use to complete this transaction for you. Keep in mind that we are unable send funds to all countries—some are completely blocked for various reasons.

Q: What do I need to complete an international wire from my MIDFLORIDA account to a foreign bank?
A: In order to wire money from your MIDFLORIDA account another country, complete the Foreign Wire Transfer Form (link) and make a copy of your driver’s license. Fax both to our accounting department at 863-616-2110. Then call our accounting department at 863-616-2100, ext. 2000, to speak with a representative and complete the request.*

We are required by federal legislation to speak with you in person or by phone to inform you of important wire information and advise you of your rights as a party of the transaction. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. EST.

Q: When are wires processed?
A: Wire transfers are processed during regular business hours with a cutoff time of 4:30 p.m. for domestic wires and 3:00 p.m. for foreign wires. Requests received after this time will be processed the next business day. Funds are sent via the Fedwire Funds Service at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Forms received by fax are not guaranteed to be sent the same day. Also note that the funds may not arrive at their destination on the same day the wire is sent. In some cases it may take as long as 15 days.

Q: Can wires be processed after hours?
A: Our systems and required documentation do not allow for wires to be processed outside of the times listed above.

Q: Who can I call if I have questions?
A: Please call our accounting department at 863-616-2100, ext. 2000, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.
