Introducing the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center
On January 24, we were honored to attend a ribbon cutting and sign unveiling of the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center. Formerly known as the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, it serves as a meeting, convention, and special event venue for Florida’s Treasure Coast.
When MIDFLORIDA merged with Indian River Federal Credit Union in 2012, we not only expanded our branch network into the Treasure Coast, but we developed a deep and immediate love for the community and its residents. According to Vanessa Hernandez, MIDFLORIDA’s Chief of Retail Delivery, “We have been made to feel so welcome in the Port St. Lucie community.” So welcome, in fact, that MIDFLORIDA has quickly grown to have four—soon to be five—branches in the area. Hernandez continues by saying, “it seemed like a natural fit for MIDFLORIDA to give back and support the entire community. What better way of doing that than by partnering with the city to rename the Civic Center?”
Similar to the our involvement with the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, the credit union will serve as the title sponsor of the venue, leaving the responsibilities of day-to-day management with the City of Port St. Lucie.
Shrita Walker, Vice President and Area Manager of the Treasure Coast region, adds, “We are so excited about this partnership and the schedule of events planned, including the “We Love Lucie Concert Series” set to debut with Styx on February 1. It is a testament to MIDFLORIDA’s dedication and support of the city of Port St. Lucie.
