Rebecca Keith Scholarship

Named for one of our founding members, the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union/Rebecca Keith Scholarship is awarded annually to a student at each high school in Polk and Highlands counties.

Since our founding in 1954 as the Polk County Teachers Credit Union, we’ve been a proud advocate for students, educators, and schools. That’s exactly why we’ve funded the Rebecca Keith scholarship for more than a decade. The scholarship, named for one of our founding members, awards $1,000 for college tuition per year for four years. One recipient is chosen from each high school; take a look at last year’s Highlands and Polk County college scholarship recipients.

Selection process

While MIDFLORIDA funds the Rebecca Keith Scholarship, the selection process in Polk County is managed by the Polk Education Foundation. Guidance counselors in Highlands County collect applications from those students, and then submit them to an independent committee for selection.

Apply today

The application period for students in Polk County is Monday, February 27 through Tuesday, March 14, at noon. For more information and to apply, please visit the Polk Education Foundation’s website. If you’re a student in Highlands County, please contact your school’s guidance counselor for more details.
