kidsPACK is Committed to Feeding Kids

MIDFLORIDA teams up with kidsPACK, a local organization dedicated to feeding children identified as homeless. Each week, a backpack of food is sent home with the kids to feed them through the weekend.

No School Means No Food

Did you know that there are more than 2,600 children in Polk County that are registered as homeless? For these children, school-provided breakfast and lunch may be the only meals they receive.

Just Feed Kids

kidsPACK is a local organization committed to making sure kids in need have food to sustain them over the weekend when they have no access to school meals. Each Friday, kidsPACK sends these children home with a backpack filled with two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners for the weekend.

MIDFLORIDA Is Proud to Support kidsPACK

In continuing with our commitment to improve the communities we serve, MIDFLORIDA is proud to announce its sponsorship of kidsPACK. Marie Hanna, a managing broker for MIDFLORIDA Real Estate Sales has been an avid supporter of kidsPACK for over a year. Marie found out about the organization while serving on a community service committee with the founder of kidsPACK. “I was astounded that so many children in Polk County were homeless and didn’t know where their next meal would come from. I started supporting this effort right away and just sponsored my first child last year,” she added.

kidsPACK in Our Community

Children that benefit from kidsPACK are not registered by their parents, but instead are identified by school staff. The backpacks given out are nondescript, so as to not draw attention to each recipient. kidsPACK is currently feeding 916 children in 53 schools throughout Polk County. That means there are approximately 1,684 children that still need to be fed!
