MIDFLORIDA Adds Extended Hours to North Central Florida Market and Increases Minimum Wage

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union is bringing its exceptionally convenient 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. extended drive-thru hours and full-service Saturday hours to its North Central Florida branches this fall. Beginning November 2, branches in The Villages, Ocala and Gainesville will offer the Credit Union’s signature extended hours, already overwhelmingly popular throughout its branch network that spans coast to coast from Gainesville to Stuart.

To help execute the rollout of its extended hours, MIDFLORIDA will hire 25 part-time employees from within the North Central Florida community. The Credit Union recently announced that it is raising its minimum wage to $15 per hour. “Part-time employees are critical to our success”, stated Vanessa Hernandez, Chief of Retail Delivery, “and, while it’s a part-time position, it’s a position with purpose—to improve the financial wellbeing of our members, a mission in which we all believe.” Candidates can apply online at midflorida.com from the convenience of their home. Chris David, Chief Operations Officer, adds that, “We are excited to bring extended drive-thru hours and full-service Saturday hours to the North Central Florida branches. It’s something our members have requested, especially in light of the emphasis on low-contact transactions.”

Despite other banks remaining closed or requiring appointments for service, MIDFLORIDA has remained open through the pandemic. After offering drive-thru only service for a brief time in the spring, the Credit Union reopened its lobbies in mid-May to give members the option of lobby or drive-thru service. In an effort to help members maintain financial stability, MIDFLORIDA has provided unprecedented assistance to its members, funding more than $78 million to small business members through the Paycheck Protection Program; offering members with car loans the option to “Pay Half” through the end of February; and refinancing a record number of first mortgages to lower rates. “Our staff has always fully embraced our mission statement but during this time, they’ve seen it in action more clearly,” Hernandez added.
