Yes, teens and young adults ages 10 to 20 can open an Absolutely Free Student Checking account. Youth ages 10 to 14 must have a parent or guardian as a joint owner, while teens 15 to 20 may open the account on their own if they meet the ID requirements.
Teens and young adults ages 14-20 can open a student checking account online. However, in most cases a young adult's identity cannot be verified online and the student is asked to visit a branch with their ID to complete the account opening process and pick up a debit card. Youth 10-13 must visit a branch to open an account.
Teens 10 to 20 years old must provide their Social Security number. A parent or guardian joint owner must provide their Social Security number and show a valid Florida driver's license, Florida ID card, or Military ID.

Paper statements not routinely provided. The Absolutely Free Student Checking account is designed for members 10-20 years old. $25 minimum opening deposit required. Depending on age, the account may require a parent or guardian’s signature. Identification: Social Security number required for student; government-issued ID required for either the student or parent/guardian as joint owner to open the account and to receive a debit card. To qualify for the $50 incentive, you must open a new Absolutely Free Student Checking account, accept and open online banking, eStatement and a debit card; and complete five debit card purchase transactions which must post within the first 75 days of account opening. No dividends paid. Annual Percentage Yield is 0.00%. Limit one incentive per Social Security number. Past checking account holders and previous recipients of checking account incentives are ineligible. New account must remain open and unrestricted at least 90 days to qualify for incentive. The incentive will be deposited to new Absolutely Free Student Checking account within 90 days of account opening after the qualifications have been met, and will be reported to the IRS.
