To earn a $400 bonus, open a new Free Checking account online or at any MIDFLORIDA branch. Then complete these requirements within 60 days:
- Set up and receive a minimum of $4,000 through direct deposit
- Enroll in Online Banking and eStatements
- Make 40 debit card purchases
To earn a $200 bonus, open a new Free Checking account online or at any MIDFLORIDA branch. Then complete these requirements within 60 days:
- Set up and receive a minimum of $2,000 through direct deposit
- Enroll in Online Banking and eStatements
- Make 20 debit card purchases
We’ll need your Social Security Number, a government-issued ID, date of birth, and a U.S. physical address. If your physical address is different from that on your ID, proof of address will also be needed. A soft credit inquiry will be made during the account opening process, which will not affect your credit rating.
No, the Free Checking account is just that, free. It comes with no monthly maintenance fee and no minimum balance requirement. Enjoy all of the benefits of banking with MIDFLORIDA without worrying about maintaining a certain balance or incurring monthly fees.
To qualify for the bonus, your direct deposit must be an ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfer of your paycheck, pension or government benefits - typically sent from your employer or government agency.
Please note:
- Tax refunds do not qualify.
- Deposits made through cash transfer apps (like Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle) do not qualify.
- Transfers from another MIDFLORIDA account do not qualify.

Direct Deposit must be an automated clearing house (ACH) credit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits from your employer or the government; tax refunds, cash transfer app deposits and transfers from another MIDFLORIDA account do not qualify. No dividends are paid on Free Checking. Annual Percentage Yield is 0.00%. Limit one incentive per Social Security number. Past checking account holders and previous recipients of checking account incentives are ineligible. Account must remain open and unrestricted at least 75 days to qualify for the incentive. After all qualifications have been met, the incentive will be deposited to the new Free Checking account within 75 days of account opening and will be reported to the IRS. Minimum to open Free Checking is $50.
