Find answers to common questions about our Free Checking and the $400 bonus.

To earn your $400 bonus, open a new Free Checking account online or at any MIDFLORIDA branch between November 29 and December 7. Then complete these requirements within 60 days:

  • Set up and receive a minimum of $500 through direct deposit
  • Enroll in Online Banking and eStatements
  • Activate your debit card
  • Make 5 debit card purchases in one calendar month

Once all requirements are met, your $400 bonus will be automatically credited to your account within two weeks. This Black Friday special doubles our usual $200 bonus, but only until December 7.

We’ll need your Social Security Number, a government-issued ID, date of birth, and a U.S. physical address. If your physical address is different from that on your ID, proof of address will also be needed. A soft credit inquiry will be made during the account opening process, which will not affect your credit rating.

No, the Free Checking account is just that, free. It comes with no monthly maintenance fee and no minimum balance requirement. Enjoy all of the benefits of banking with MIDFLORIDA without worrying about maintaining a certain balance or incurring monthly fees.

To qualify for the $400 incentive, you must open a new Free Checking account with direct deposit ($500 cumulative which must post within 60 days of account opening; Cash transfer app deposits do not qualify); accept and open online banking, eStatement, and a debit card; and complete 5 debit card purchase transactions which must post in one calendar month (to be completed within the first 60 days of account opening). No dividends are paid on Free Checking. Annual Percentage Yield is 0.00%. Limit one incentive per Social Security number. Past checking account holders and previous recipients of checking account incentives are ineligible. The incentive will be deposited to the new Free Checking account within 14 days after all qualifications have been met and will be reported to the IRS. Minimum to open Free Checking is $50.
