Account Aggregation Changes

Effective May 8, 2023, MIDFLORIDA will be using a new service provider for our account aggregation. Account Aggregation is a tool that allows members to view their accounts from other financial institutions through MIDFLORIDA's Free Online Banking and mobile app.

Why do I have to re-establish the connection to my external account?

On May 8, 2023, MIDFLORIDA will switch to a new service provider for account aggregation services. This change will provide an improved member experience, more reliable connections and access to more financial institutions. When this switch is made, all existing connections will be lost.  To add your account back, you will need to click or tap on the Add an External Account button and enter your account credentials (including any one-time passcodes for verification, if necessary) to establish connection through the new provider.

Can I reconnect my accounts through the desktop version of online banking and the mobile app?

Yes, the aggregation tool is available in Free Online Banking and the mobile app.

Will I still have access to my transaction history?

Yes. Because account aggregation simply retrieves the history from your external account, nothing is lost. It is essentially closing one door, and opening another, to view your external account within MIDFLORIDA's online banking.

How do I re-link my external account?

After May 8, when you log in to MIDFLORIDA's Free Online Banking, you will notice your existing external accounts will display a closed status. All accounts will need to be added back through the new provider. Simply click or tap on the Add an External Account button to enter your login credentials for that account, including any one-time passcodes for verification, if necessary. Please note: you will be directed to a new browser window outside of your MIDFLORIDA online banking session.

Will this change impact my Linked Accounts that I have set up for transfers?

No, your Linked Accounts will not be affected. MIDFLORIDA's account aggregation service gathers and presents information from several types of external accounts, but does not initiate transfers. Whereas Linked Accounts are set up through a different authorization process to allow funds to move from account to account. In summary, the External Accounts section is for display only, and Linked Accounts are for transfers only.

Will this change affect my savings goals and budgeting tools?

Unfortunatley, yes. If your goals or budgets were linked to one of your external accounts, you will need to set them up again using the newly connected accounts.

Will this change impact the third-party aggregation setting for Plaid and Intuit?

No, this change will not affect your third-party aggregation preferences.

How do I view all my accounts in one place?

With MIDFLORIDA's aggregation tool within Free Online Banking and the mobile app, you can add your external accounts for a big picture view of your finances.

To add an account, click or tap the Add External Account button. Select the financial institution from the list or type the name of your financial institution.  Then, enter login credentials needed to login to your account.
